Our procedure if your pet has to stay with us overnight
Byre Veterinary Surgery is not a veterinary hospital at present and as such does not have staff present overnight.
Patients that are hospitalised overnight will have a plan for their care made by the Veterinary Surgeon in charge of their case. Usually this involves a check at bed time and first thing in the morning by the duty veterinary nurse. Should the Veterinary Surgeon feel that more checks are required then these will be arranged.
If it is felt that the level of care required by the patient cannot be met then it may be necessary to refer the patient to an out of hours or referral centre.
All patients will be kept in a warm, clean, secure kennel and provided with suitable bedding, litter, water and food as appropriate.
