When we prescribe a prescription medication we need to monitor your pets condition regularly. This is a legal requirement and ensures that we comply with guidelines from The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

The frequency of medication reviews depends on the condition being treated and the medication prescribed. Usually we would request a check up every three months. This may involve an examination and/or a blood or urine test.

Medical conditions can change over time and by checking your pet regularly we can pick up these changes quickly before they cause harm. We need to check:

• The dose of the medication is correct
• There are no side effects
• The medication is still effective
• The medication is not masking any other conditions

Please allow 48 hours when ordering repeat prescriptions. This is to allow for us to order the medication and to check it before dispensing.

Medication ordered on a Friday or Saturday will take longer due to our deliveries but would usually be ready on Monday afternoon.
